Moncton, February 11, 2020 — The CHU Dumont Foundation’s Valentine’s Day Gala presented by the National Bank celebrated its 25th anniversary on February 8. A record-breaking $127,000 cheque was unveiled in front of the 450 attendees.

The chair of the CHU Dumont Foundation’s Board of Directors, Lise Caissie, feels grateful for the support of the public that, year after year actively participates in the success of the Foundation’s initiatives, allowing it to invest in the improvement of care and health services offered at the Dr.-George-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre.

“It is the unconditional support of the community and our partners that allows us to succeed in fulfilling our mandate. This 25th edition is no exception. The extreme generosity shown by our partners, sponsors and participants will allow us to support other important projects for the many departments of our hospital centre. Whether it’s for pediatrics, surgery, geriatrics, microbiology, cardiology, among others, our team works hard to raise funds to improve the experience of our patients and their loved ones.”

Please note that the administrative offices of the CHU Dumont Foundation at 311 Highfield Street have moved to 667 Champlain Street in Dieppe. The office in the lobby of the Dumont UHC will remain open from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. For information, please call (506) 862-4285 or 1-800-862-6775.

Moncton, Thursday, June 27, 2019 – The members of the organizing committee for the 18th Scotiabank - BMW Moncton Golf Classic proudly presented a cheque for $82,000 to the CHU Dumont Foundation. The annual tournament took place yesterday at the Fox Creek Golf Course in Dieppe.

The funds raised this year will allow the purchase of a portable ultrasound device and an APS PRO system to perform bronchial provocation tests in the pulmonary function laboratory.

"The bronchial provocation test is a medical examination used in the diagnosis of asthma and certain forms of allergies. It is carried out as part of respiratory functional explorations," says pulmonologist Dr. Matthieu Gaudet. “The test is designed to determine if a patient suffers from bronchial hyperreactivity. It meets the standards of the European Respiratory Society and the American Thoracic Society published in 2017.”
