Moncton, May 21, 2019 – The Electrifying Night Run will be back for a fourth edition on June 14th. Walkers and runners are invited to participate in this event that raises funds to provide better care for breast cancer patients at the Breast Health Centre. The run will start at 9 pm in front of the Dr. Léon-Richard Oncology Centre, on Providence Street in Moncton.

“The Electrifying Night Run is a unifying event that allows for participants to socialize and have fun with friends and family members while supporting a great cause”, said Dr. Jocelyne Hébert, a surgeon at the Breast Health Centre and a member of the organizing committee. “It’s an event that shouldn’t be missed!”

This annual event is a fun evening, even though it supports a very serious cause. Designed for running enthusiasts and amateurs alike, it is open to people of all ages. Registrants may choose to walk, run or combine walking and running over the five kilometers. Whether they are alone or part of a team, participants are encouraged to wear pink and to dress with originality. Prizes will be awarded in three categories: best individual costume; best team costume; and most original team name.

Funds raised in the 2019 edition will be used to continue offering non-insured services to patients in need, as well as to improve the quality of life of all patients at the Breast Health Centre.

The executive director of the CHU Dumont Foundation, Nadine Martin, is convinced that the event will be a success again this year. “We are very fortunate to be able to count on the expertise of the medical team of the Breast Health Centre at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre. The run allows the public to demonstrate its support for the staff and for the patients who benefit from the high-quality care afforded to them. Last year, more than 500 people took part in the event that raised $24,000.”

There are several ways to register:

  • Online at www.runningroom.com
  • At the CHU Dumont Foundation office (in the Dumont UHC entrance)
  • At the Breast Health Centre
  • At the Running Room at 300 Main Street in Moncton.

Registration is $30 per person ($35 per person after May 31) or $200 for a team of eight.

Don’t miss it!
