MONCTON, February 11, 2019 – The Delta Beauséjour’s Grand Salon was literally sparkling on Saturday, February 9 as the venue for the CHU Dumont Foundation’s 24th Valentine’s Day Gala presented by the National Bank.  The atmosphere was especially festive as attendees learned that their participation had helped organizers raise the impressive sum of $125,000.

For the organizing committee, the amount was even more than they had hoped for. “While recognizing that our expectations were high, we knew all the elements were in place for a successful evening. However, it’s always a pleasure to see your hard work translated into real dollars. Our goal was to reach a total of $120,000 and we are extremely pleased that this was surpassed”, said Marc Lanteigne, chairman of the organizing committee. “I am grateful for all the hard work and commitment displayed by my committee members. I also thank the sponsors who made this all possible by believing in our cause.”

The Valentine’s Day Gala is one of the CHU Dumont Foundation’s signature events.  Each year, parts of the funds raised are invested in the improvement of care and health services offered at the Dr.-George-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre. More than 470 people took part in the 2019 edition.

Throughout this exhilarating evening, attendees were treated to a sumptuous four-course meal prepared by the Delta Beauséjour’s executive chef, Stefan Müller while being entertained by the airs of Tutta Musica. The evening was capped off with a post-gala dance to the music of Spoiled Rotten.

Participants also had the opportunity to bid on a number of fabulous prizes in a silent auction, that included two tickets for a Montreal Canadiens vs Pittsburgh Penguins hockey game, as well as two passes for the National Bank’s directors’ lounge; a dinner for 10 people in the comfort of their home prepared by the Delta Beauséjour’s Executive Chef Stefan Müller; and a golf package from Fox Creek Golf Course in Dieppe along with a gift certificate for the St. James Gate Restaurant.

Réjean Després is Vice President, Personal and Commercial Banking, Atlantic at National Bank. “National Bank has been a proud sponsor of the Valentine’s Day Gala since 1995. One of our organization’s priorities is to actively support the economic and social development of the communities we serve – and any good community must allow access to quality health care services. That’s why we’re pleased to continue our partnership with the CHU Dumont Foundation and why I’m pleased to announce that we will be the presenting sponsor again in 2020 for the 25th edition of the Gala.”

“We are very fortunate to be able to count on the support of the community for events such as the Valentine’s Day Gala, said the Chair of the CHU Dumont Foundation’s Board of directors, Lise Caissie. The benefits of an evening such as this are very clear. Thanks to the generosity of committee members, participants and sponsors, our hospital centre will be able to acquire equipment to improve the health experience of many patients.”

The Valentine’s Day Gala will return on February 8, 2020 for its 25th edition.
